Firearm Safety Certificate
Before you can purchase a firearm in California, you must obtain a Firearm Safety Certificate. When you’re ready to take the test, schedule an appointment. We will find a time convenient for you.

Required per California Penal Code: 31615.
Valid for 5 years.
It is a 30 question multiple choice test. You must pass with a score of at least 75% (23 correct answers).
If you fail the test, you must wait 24 hours to re-take the test.
Fees: FSC Certificate is $25.00. Replacement certificate is $5.00
Requirements
Valid California Driver License or State Identification Card.
Must not be deemed a prohibited person from owning and/or possessing a firearm under California or federal law.
21 years of age.
You may not use any outside sources or assistance for the test.
