Introduction to Handgun
Never fired a handgun before? This course is tailored for adults with little or no prior handgun experience. By the end of the class you will have a clear understanding of how to safely handle and operate a firearm. We provide a no pressure, structured learning environment. This class is maxed out at four students to ensure individual instruction.
Course Overview
Duration: 2 hours
Format: 1 hour classroom instruction. 1 hour live-fire instruction.
Location: LAX Firing Range
Additional Requirements: Must not be deemed a prohibited person from owning and/or possessing a firearm under California or federal law.
Cancelation Policy: Cancellations made 48+ hours prior to the start of class receive a full refund. Cancelling less than 48 hours in advance of a class are not eligible for a refund but will receive a one-time reschedule credit. The credit is non-transferable and must be used within 60 days. We do not give refunds or credit for No-shows. By registering for this class, you agree to our cancelation policy.
What you will learn
One hour of classroom instruction will consist of:
Firearm and range safety rules
Parts of a firearm
Fundamentals of pistol marksmanship: stance, grip, sight picture, sight alignment, trigger press, and follow through.
At the end of the one hour classroom instruction, you will apply what you’ve learned in a guided live-fire session with close instructor supervision.

That’s it! All range fees, gun rentals, and ammunition are included in the course cost.
This two hour course is a primer for anyone who has never fired a handgun. The first hour will be spent in the classroom learning safety, and the fundamentals of pistol shooting. This will be followed by one hour of live-fire shooting. Targets, gun rental, and range time included.
